The house
The house consists of two parts.
The upper floor is completely separated from the rentable accommodation below and is absolutely not used by the residents in the summer months of July and August.
So you will always be alone with your travelling companions !
The ground-floor flat has an area of about 100 m². The entrance is on the lower terrace. You do have access to all the terraces around the house, upstairs and downstairs, to "freely" enjoy the sun and the view. On the terrace is a 4.10 x 4.10 metre pool.
The living room is connected to a large open-plan kitchen, equipped with a kitchen island/dining table.
The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and one double bed. The 2nd bedroom has two single beds. In the hallway is a very spacious toilet, here is the washing machine. The house has air conditioning.
All windows and the door to the terrace have electric shutters. There are several garden tables and chairs with shelter from the sun.
The living room is equipped with, among other things; two armchairs, coffee table, ottoman and a large TV. with Dutch channels, long low cabinet on the side with lamps.
The modern complete open kitchen is fully equipped, including an induction hob in a cooking island, microwave, oven, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine and fridge with freezer.
From the terrace downstairs, you can walk straight to the boules court and basketball "field" and you can practice hand archery on a safe court in the woods.
All this is illuminated. Game materials are in the garden house.

From the high house you have a magnificent view of the surroundings.
Saix is situated a few km. south-west of Castres, a medium-sized town with a cosy centre with many terraces, restaurants and shopping streets.
Near Castres is Sidobre, a lake with huge blocks of granite, a very beautiful nature reserve, where one can walk extensively.
A large shopping centre is located at a few km. distance, on the road to Castres and also in the other direction, towards Toulouse at less than 10 km.
In the vicinity are many (un) famous villages, towns but also larger cities with castles from the Middle Ages. Carcassone (65 km) is the most famous and the largest. Also Albi (41 km) is worth a visit with its impressive cathedral and the museum of the painter Toulouse Lautrac. About 20 minutes past Albi and 50 minutes from Toulouse, lies Cordes-sur-ciel, known from the time of the Cathars, also centuries old, an absolute must! Near Toulouse, (77 km.), is the international airport with daily flights to the Netherlands.
The Mediterranean Sea is about an hour and a half away.
At 1 km. from the house is an Etap hotel. If you do not want to travel on Saturday in high season, you can for example arrive on Friday ( or earlier ) or leave on Sunday, by staying here one night and enjoy an excellent restaurant. This at an attractive price. And..... it saves you a lot of traffic jams.

Fijn verblijf in een prachtige omgeving. Fijne gastheren. De hitte (42 graden) was prima te houden met het lekkere zwembad en de goede airco's. Alle voorzieningen zijn aanwezig in zowel het huis als in de nabije omgeving. Thx

Het is een leuk huis met mooi uitzicht. Veel rust en ruimte! Heel bijzonder om elke dag de hertjes te zien op het veld. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. Het zwembad is heerlijk vooral, na een dagje weggeweest te zijn. In de buurt is er genoeg te zien. In de avond heerlijk buiten zitten en
kijken naar de sterrenhemel. De winkels zijn redelijk dicht in de buurt.

We hadden vier heerlijke weken in dit huis dat van alle gemakken is voorzien. De rust en ruimte zijn geweldig, de mogelijkheden in en om het huis eindeloos. Je hoeft het terrein niet af om te wandelen, badmintonnen, luieren, vogels kijken of spartelen in het zwembad. We hebben er van genoten!

There are numerous restaurants in the area, where you can enjoy the excellent local wines.
There are many markets and vineyards, where you can taste the local products before you buy.
Activities
Only 2500 m away there is a large recreational lake; Base de Loisirs; www.communautesoragout.fr .
Here, you can practice many outdoor sports, such as surfing, sailing, pedal boats, canoeing, horseback riding, volleyball and fishing, etc. You can also go mountain biking or hiking.
There is also a BMX track.
There is also a BMX track. There is an area for barbecue and picnic.
There are lessons in all kinds of sports. There is a lot of parking space, a lot of sanitary facilities and there is also first aid.
In the summer, there are many "animations" such as music, dance, "spectacles", boat trips on the river, etc. in Castres.
In the house there is a Dutch booklet for you with all the activities and attractions here in the region.
I am still amazed at the countless possibilities for walking, cycling, MTB / road cycling, canoeing, horseback riding, water sports, etc. here in the Tarn, both for advanced and beginners, both on the flat and in the mountains (800 meters difference in altitude).
Everywhere are places where you can rent everything.
There are 10 horse-riding farms and more than 30 horse-riding places for a horse-riding trip through the Tarn (www.tarn-a-cheval.com).
There are many recreational areas with a wide choice of water sports and there are also large beaches near these lakes.
For example Lac de Ferréol, in the direction of Toulouse-Soual, next to Revel at 17 km. The dimensions of the lake are 1600x800 meters, with a walking trail around it of 4.5 km. There is a lot of beach and also lawns and woods around it. You can go pedal boating, surfing and catamaran sailing. Sailboats can be driven into the water with trailers. The lake was created by making a 700-metre long barrage (dam) in a small river a few hundred years ago. The maximum depth is 30 m. It gives its water to the Canal du Midi.

All prices are per week, arrival Saturday from 16.00 hrs, departure no later than 10.00 hrs. Unless otherwise agreed.
Prices include bed linen and (bath) towels, water and electricity.
A deposit of € 400.= must be paid. The cleaning costs are € 100.=.
For the children and of course for the adults there are all kinds of games available.
There is a table tennis table, a table football game and a badminton set. There is also a firmly anchored basketball board on a concrete slab.
In the forest behind the house, you also have the possibility to play archery and jeu de boules on a specially built court.
We would like to point out that archery is entirely your responsibility. Never let small children shoot without your supervision!
It is not allowed to let passing friends and/or relatives stay in the house without consultation.
Additional price info and offers
Outside the high season, you can also use this flat, e.g. if you are passing through or just want to spend a few days in the area.
This costs € 100 per day, with a minimum of 2 days and € 600 for a whole week.
Ideal for visiting the area at your leisure.
If you are 2 persons, the cleaning costs are € 125,=, with 2 or 3 persons they are € 150,=.
