The house
Set in an authentic rural hamlet, well situated for exploring the Vendee coast, with easy access to St Gilles Croix de Vie or St Jean de Monts. There is also a leisure lake with beach at Apremont, at just 18km. 5km from the village (bar, restaurant supermarket and shops) and 19km to the nearest large town, La Roche sur Yon, with all amenities, shopping centre, summer festivities and an indoor fun-pool. Within easy reach of the famous history theme park "Le Puy du Fou".
The house offers lovely spacious accommodation, for up to 12 people. There is an enclosed lawn garden area and the sunken pool area provides an attractive sun-trap The private swimming pool is fully fenced, with a safety gate, for peace of mind. 4 double bedrooms with shower room (including a ground floor double which is adapted for reduced mobility), plus 2 twin bedrooms and a further bathroom.

Set in a rural hamlet. In the village you will find a small selection of shops, a small supermarket, a bar and restaurant. The pretty town of Aizenay (15km) offers further shops and a large supermarket and the major town of La Roche sur Yon is within easy reach (19km). There is a lovely lake beach at Apremont and it's just 35km to the Vendee coast at St Gilles Croix de Vie.

Apart from the restaurant in the local village, the towns of Aizenay and La Roche sur Yon offer a good choice of restaurants. There is a weekly market at La Roche sur Yon and excellent markets every day on the coast at St Gilles Croix de Vie. Its around half an hour to the wine region of Mareuil sur Lay and the Loire Valley wine region is accessible for day trips (Angers about 1 hour).

I would just like to say how very happy we were with our gite - Le Logis de Mariniere, it was just as described in the advert, it was clean and welcoming and the pool was big 'hit' with all the family.

The magnificent farmhouse which is just as described in the photos, even down to the patterns on the bed linen. It is so big, spotless and very comfortable with lovely countryside views. We even had a separate suite, suitable for disabled people, which we didn't need to use, as all the double bedrooms were en-suite and the two twins had a bathroom between them. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped. We found the sofas practical and comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone. There were 12 dining chairs around a huge table. The pool is private, large and warm and keept very clean. La Roche-sur-Yon is close enough to eat there every night with great restaurants and shopping mall. We spend a day in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie which was a lovely pretty port. Nearby is a lake with a sandy beach at Apremont where we hired a little sailing boat. Martin Holmes, the agent, is excellent and responds to any enquiry very quickly. All in all, somewhere to return to with confidence. We would recommend this beautiful place to anyone.
