The house
Spacious house with open plan downstairs area. Lounge kitchen/diner. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, cooker, microwave. There is a larger fridge/freezer in the utility area along with the washing machine. Also downstairs is a shower room with toilet. The lounge area has a wood buring stove, (please note that from September to May there is a fuel supplement of 65.00 euros a week). Television with english or french channels. Also there is WIFI. Also there can be facilities to sleep an extra 2 people. The gite sleeps 4/6. The pool, 8m x 4m length, 1m x 1.8m unheated, is open from June to September. Sometimes May depending on the weather. Cot (please bring your own bedding) and highchair are available. All linen for the beds and towels for gite use are included. You will need to bring your own towels for use around the pool area. We do Not accept dogs/cats

We are situated in a very quiet hamlet and transport is a must. We have a local town called Secondigny about 10 mins drive. There is no local transport

The gite is lovely, as are the hosts. The weather played tricks on us, so we only used the pool once, but it's a brilliant spot to relax. Quiet country area, but you can reach all sorts of tourist spots like Puy du Fou, La Rochelle or Futuroscope easily. The welcome hamper with homemade jam and eggs from the local chickens was the icing on the cake!

Activities
We are in a very quiet hamlet, surrounded by countryside and fields. There is walking and cycling areas. We are 20 minutes from Parthenay an old medieval town. Puy du Fou is just over 2 1/2 hours away, this is well worth a visit and even an overnight stay. Futuroscope is 1 1/2 hours away, a theme park. La Rochelle with lovely beaches and resturants is 1 1/2 hours away. There are also several markets locally Parthenay is Wednesday, Bressuire Tuesday & Saturday. Niort a lovely city to visit has markets on Thursday and Saturdays. For those that like golf we have course Les Forges 79340 which is 45 mins away. Fishing there are several lakes in the area, but you would need a licence.

Further remarks
The swimming pool is for the private use of gite guests only. It is surrounded by a fence and has a locked gate, so that children must be accompanied by an adult.
